About Lighthouse
01
What is Lighthouse?
Lighthouse is a construction intelligence and procurement platform that helps you discover professionals, explore completed projects, find products and connect with suppliers. It brings these activities together to help you make better decisions for your construction, renovation or interior project.
02
Who can use Lighthouse?
Lighthouse is designed for homeowners, architects, interior designers, engineers, contractors, builders, brands and dealers. The features available to you depend on your account type, location and the services currently enabled.
03
What can I do on Lighthouse?
You can explore professional profiles and completed projects, discover construction and interior products, and submit requirements for quotations. Where available, you can compare quotations and coordinate procurement through the platform.
04
Is Lighthouse a construction company or an architectural firm?
Lighthouse provides the platform. Unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise, the professional you appoint provides design or execution services, and the seller identified in your order supplies the products.
05
Can I use Lighthouse for a small requirement?
Yes. Your requirement may be a single product, materials for one room, a renovation or a larger project. Supplier availability, minimum quantities and delivery conditions depend on the items and location.
06
Where are Lighthouse’s services available?
Availability depends on the service. Professional and project discovery may cover more locations than procurement. Check whether suppliers can fulfil your specific requirement at your project location before confirming an order.
07
Does Lighthouse guarantee the lowest price?
No. Lighthouse helps you assess available options. Compare the complete offer—including specifications, quantity, taxes, transport, delivery conditions and warranty—rather than the headline price alone.
Accounts and Getting Started
08
Do I need an account?
Some discovery features may be accessible without signing in. An account may be required to submit requirements, manage quotations or orders, publish an eligible professional profile, or use personalised features.
09
Which account type should I choose?
Choose the role that reflects how you intend to use Lighthouse: as a customer seeking professionals or products, a professional showcasing work, or a business supplying products. Business representatives must be authorised to act for the organisation.
10
Can I use Lighthouse both professionally and for purchasing materials?
Professionals may also have procurement requirements. Use the account roles and permissions available to you, and make clear whether a purchase is for yourself, your firm or a client.
11
Does it cost anything to use Lighthouse?
Charges depend on the service or plan selected. Any applicable subscription, onboarding, verification, promotion or transaction charge should be disclosed before you agree to it. Product purchases and professional engagements have their own prices.
12
Are paid plans or launch offers permanent?
Only the benefits, duration and pricing stated in your accepted offer apply. Check the regular price, renewal terms, usage limits and cancellation conditions before subscribing.
Finding and Appointing Professionals
13
How do I find a suitable professional?
Start with your location, project type and required service. Review relevant completed projects, the professional’s stated contribution, experience and available profile information. Shortlist professionals whose work and scope fit your needs.
14
Does listing a professional mean Lighthouse recommends or guarantees them?
A listing helps you discover a professional. It is not a guarantee of workmanship, availability, financial standing or project outcomes. Discuss your requirements and assess suitability before making an appointment.
15
What does a verified badge mean?
Verification refers to the particular information or evidence checked. Depending on the badge, that might concern business identity, credentials, project information or another stated attribute. It does not mean every claim or aspect of the business has been independently audited.
16
What should I confirm before hiring a professional?
Agree in writing on the scope, fees, deliverables, timelines, revisions, site visits, supervision, approvals and responsibilities. Clarify what is excluded and how additional work, delays and termination will be handled.
17
Does Lighthouse manage the professional’s work?
Do not assume project management or site supervision is included. Those services apply only where an identified provider expressly accepts them under a written scope.
18
Can Lighthouse guarantee enquiries or projects for professionals?
No. A profile, subscription, badge or promotional placement does not guarantee enquiries, appointments, revenue or procurement orders.
Project Stories and Portfolios
19
Who can publish project stories?
Public project publishing is intended for eligible professional accounts. Homeowners can explore projects and submit their own requirements, but do not publish professional project showcases.
20
What projects can be showcased?
Public showcases must represent real, completed projects. Ongoing work, proposals, concept designs and AI-generated images must not be presented as completed projects.
21
Can an older completed project be published?
Yes, provided the information is accurate and the necessary publication rights remain valid. State the original completion period and your contribution accurately; an older project must not be described as newly completed.
22
Can I upload projects completed while working with another firm?
Only if you have the necessary rights and permissions. Explain your actual role and credit the relevant firm and collaborators. Having worked on a project does not automatically give you permission to publish all its photographs, drawings or other materials.
23
Who owns uploaded photographs, drawings and project descriptions?
Ownership remains with the relevant rights holders. Lighthouse needs limited permission to host, process and display approved content for the requested service. Uploading does not transfer ownership to Lighthouse.
24
Is permission from the property owner enough?
Not always. The photographer, architect, employer, designer or another creator may hold separate rights. You must obtain the permissions relevant to the materials and the way they will be used.
25
Can Lighthouse help prepare a project story?
Where onboarding or content assistance is offered, Lighthouse can help organise the information you provide. You remain responsible for confirming the accuracy of project facts, contribution claims, credits and publication permissions before approval.
26
Can Lighthouse import content from my website or Instagram?
Any import depends on an available, permitted integration and the necessary content rights. A public link or ownership checkbox alone does not authorise downloading from a third-party service. Uploading rights-cleared files directly may be an alternative.
27
Can an approved project appear again in discovery or recommendations?
Approved public content may be resurfaced within Lighthouse while the relevant permission remains valid. Its completion date, attribution and approved visibility should remain accurate. Separate promotional uses outside that scope require appropriate permission.
28
Can I keep the client’s identity or exact address private?
Yes—submit only information suitable for the intended audience. Avoid including exact home addresses, personal contact details or sensitive plans in public materials. City-level location is generally sufficient for a public project story.
29
What if I want to correct or remove a published project?
Request the correction or removal through the available account or support route, identifying the project and requested change. Removal from public display and deletion of underlying records may follow different processes because limited records can be needed for legal, security or dispute purposes.
Products and Suppliers
30
What products can I discover on Lighthouse?
Lighthouse focuses on construction and interior categories such as bathroom products, tiles and surfaces, kitchens and storage, lighting, electrical products, plumbing and boards or laminates. The actual catalogue and procurement availability may vary.
31
Does a listed product mean it is in stock?
No. A catalogue listing describes a product; it does not confirm a particular supplier’s stock. Availability, quantity, variant and delivery timing should be confirmed in the quotation.
32
Are catalogue prices final?
Not necessarily. A displayed price may be an MRP, an indicative price or a supplier offer. Confirm the final quotation, including taxes, transport, unloading, installation and any other applicable charges.
33
How do I choose the correct product variant?
Check the model or SKU, dimensions, finish, colour, material, capacity and compatibility. For tiles and other batch-sensitive products, also confirm relevant batch, shade or size information.
34
Are product photographs and colours exact?
Images are useful references, but screens, lighting and manufacturing variations can affect appearance. For colour- or finish-sensitive purchases, consider reviewing a physical sample before ordering.
35
Does a brand listing mean every dealer is authorised for that brand?
No. Brand presence in the catalogue and a dealer’s authorisation are separate matters. Confirm that any claimed authorisation applies to the relevant seller, branch, products and period.
36
Can I request something I cannot find in the catalogue?
You can describe it in your requirement, including a brand, model, reference image or specification where available. Sourcing depends on supplier availability; submitting a request does not guarantee fulfilment.
Requirements, Quotations and Orders
37
What is an RFQ?
An RFQ is a “Request for Quotation.” It tells suppliers what you need so they can respond with pricing and supply terms. Sending an RFQ is not the same as placing an order.
38
What information should I include in my requirement?
Provide product details, quantities and units, preferred brands or specifications, delivery location and required date. Mention whether alternatives are acceptable and whether you need transport, unloading or installation.
39
Can I submit a BOQ, drawing or product image?
Where supported, these files can help explain your requirement. Share only files you have authority to use, remove unnecessary personal information, and have quantities or interpretations checked before purchasing.
40
Can I ask for quotations if I do not know the exact quantities?
Yes, but make clear that the quantities are preliminary. Final purchasing quantities should account for measurements, design decisions, wastage, pack sizes and installation requirements.
41
How should I compare quotations?
Compare equivalent specifications and quantities. Check the unit of sale, pack coverage, taxes, transport, delivery timing, payment conditions, warranty and cancellation terms. A lower unit price may not produce a lower total cost.
42
Can I select different suppliers for different products?
Where item-wise selection is available, you can choose different suppliers for different items. Each supplier’s accepted items may have separate payment, delivery, warranty and cancellation terms.
43
When does my selection become a confirmed order?
An RFQ, shortlist or provisional selection is not automatically a binding order. Review the seller’s identity and final terms before completing the step explicitly identified as order acceptance or confirmation.
44
When will I know who is supplying the products?
Some preliminary comparisons may mask supplier identity. You should receive the contracting seller’s required details before making a binding purchase commitment.
45
Can prices or availability change after I receive a quotation?
A quotation may have a validity period or stated stock conditions. If it expires, request reconfirmation. Changes to an already accepted order should be expressly agreed rather than assumed.
46
Can a supplier replace a product with an alternative?
A substitution should require your approval. Confirm the alternative’s specification, brand, finish, price, warranty and delivery impact before accepting it.
47
Can I change quantities or specifications after ordering?
Request the change as soon as possible. The supplier must confirm whether it can be accommodated and whether it affects price, production, delivery or cancellation costs. Customised or already-dispatched products may have restrictions.
Payments, Delivery and Installation
48
Who receives my payment?
The quotation or payment instructions should identify the authorised recipient and payment route. Do not assume Lighthouse is the seller, payment holder or escrow provider unless the transaction expressly says so.
49
What should I check before paying?
Check the seller’s legal identity, accepted quotation, payable amount, bank or payment details and order reference. Independently verify unexpected payment-account changes, and never share an OTP or account password.
50
Who issues the invoice?
The supplier responsible for selling the goods should issue the applicable sales invoice. If Lighthouse charges separately for its own service, that charge should have its own appropriate billing documentation.
51
Are transport, unloading and installation included?
Only if the accepted quotation includes them. Confirm access restrictions, floor level, lift availability, unloading arrangements, installation scope and any additional charges before ordering.
52
Who is responsible for delivery?
The accepted order should identify the party arranging delivery and the agreed conditions. Lighthouse may assist with coordination where offered, but delivery obligations depend on the specific transaction.
53
Can items arrive in separate deliveries?
Yes, particularly for different suppliers, stock locations or production schedules. Confirm the quantities, expected dates and any additional delivery charges for each shipment.
54
What should I do when goods arrive?
Check quantities, visible condition, model, finish and packaging against the order. Note visible shortages or damage on delivery records where possible, retain photographs and packaging, and report issues promptly.
55
What if I discover a defect after accepting delivery?
Report it with your order details, invoice, photographs and a description of the issue. A delivery acknowledgement does not automatically remove applicable rights concerning hidden defects or other valid claims.
Cancellations, Returns, Refunds and Warranty
56
Can I cancel an order?
Cancellation depends on the order stage, product type and accepted terms, together with applicable legal rights. Contact support or the identified seller promptly; dispatch or custom production may affect the available options.
57
Can I return an item because I changed my mind?
Change-of-mind returns depend on the disclosed return terms. Check these before ordering, particularly for made-to-order, cut-to-size, installed, opened or specially sourced goods.
58
What if I receive the wrong, damaged, incomplete or defective product?
Report the issue promptly and provide supporting evidence. The appropriate remedy may include delivery of missing items, replacement, repair, return or refund, depending on the circumstances and applicable rights.
59
Are customised products completely excluded from remedies?
Restrictions may apply to change-of-mind cancellation or return. They do not automatically remove rights where a product is defective, misdescribed or supplied contrary to the accepted specification.
60
Should I install a product if I suspect a problem?
If safe and practical, pause installation and report the issue first. Installation can complicate inspection, evidence and removal. For a safety concern, stop using the product and obtain appropriate professional advice.
61
How long does a refund take?
The applicable process should explain assessment, approval and payment processing. Timing depends on the case and payment method. A refund request is not the same as an approved or processed refund.
62
Will delivery or installation charges be refunded?
This depends on why the remedy is required, which services were performed, the accepted terms and applicable rights. Ask for a clear breakdown of the refund and any proposed deductions.
63
Who provides the product warranty?
The quotation and warranty documentation should identify the responsible manufacturer, seller or other provider. Coverage, duration, registration, exclusions and claim procedures can vary by product.
64
Does a warranty cover labour, removal and reinstallation?
Not necessarily. Confirm whether transport, site visits, removal, labour and reinstallation are included. Do not assume a replacement product also includes all associated costs.
AI Assistance
65
How can AI help with my project?
Where enabled, AI may help organise requirements, interpret submitted information, suggest product options or prepare preliminary quantities and budgets. The exact capabilities depend on the feature available to you.
66
Are AI-generated quantities, budgets and recommendations final?
No. AI can make mistakes or miss site conditions and specification details. Have relevant outputs checked before purchasing, construction or installation, especially for structural, electrical, fire-safety and other safety-sensitive decisions.
67
Can AI place an order or approve a change for me?
An AI suggestion is not your purchase approval. Orders and material changes should follow the required authorisation and confirmation process.
68
Will my files be sent to a third-party AI provider?
An enabled AI feature may use external providers. Before sharing personal data, the feature should explain the relevant data, recipient and purpose and obtain required permission. Permission to process a file is separate from permission to publish it.
69
Does uploading content automatically allow AI model training?
No. Processing content to deliver a requested service is different from using it to train a general model. Any separate training use requires the appropriate rights and authorisation.
70
Can I use Lighthouse without optional AI assistance?
Declining optional AI processing should not require you to agree to unrelated data use. Manual alternatives should remain available for the underlying supported journey; the particular AI function may be unavailable without the data it needs.
Privacy, Content Rights and Account Deletion
71
Will my private requirement or quotation appear publicly?
Private requirements, drawings, quotations and contact details should not become public project content merely because you submit them. Information may need to be shared with relevant service providers or suppliers for the requested service, as explained in the applicable notice.
72
Why might Lighthouse request access to photos or files?
Access may be needed when you choose to upload material. Use the available file or media picker to select relevant items. Optional permissions should be limited to what the feature needs.
73
Can Lighthouse use my project in advertisements?
Permission to display an approved project within the service is distinct from permission for a separate advertising campaign or other external promotional use. Such use requires the appropriate recorded permission.
74
How do I report content that uses my work without permission?
Identify the content, provide its link or other reference, explain your rights and include supporting information. Lighthouse may need further information from the parties to assess and address the complaint.
75
How can I request account deletion?
Use the account-deletion route made available in the app or on the website. Identity verification may be required to prevent unauthorised requests. The published process should explain what will be deleted and what must be retained.
76
Does account deletion cancel orders or subscriptions?
Account deletion, order cancellation and subscription cancellation are separate processes. Resolve or separately address active commitments so that payment, delivery and renewal obligations are clear.
77
Is every record erased immediately when my account is deleted?
Some information may need to be retained for limited purposes such as invoices, legal obligations, fraud prevention or active disputes. Retention should follow the applicable policy rather than continue indefinitely without a defined reason.
Professionals, Dealers and Brands
78
How can my firm or showroom join Lighthouse?
Submit your business and service details through the available onboarding route. Depending on your role, you may be asked for identity, business, credential, portfolio or brand-authorisation evidence.
79
Can a multi-brand dealer join?
Yes, subject to onboarding requirements. Represent each brand relationship accurately and provide any requested evidence. Being authorised for one brand or branch does not automatically establish authority for others.
80
Can a business list multiple branches?
Branch information should accurately distinguish locations, service areas, available brands and the relevant supplying entity. Stock and authorisation claims should reflect the branch actually fulfilling the order.
81
Does joining guarantee leads or orders?
No. Participation creates an opportunity to be discovered and respond to suitable requirements. Results depend on customer demand, relevance, profile quality, pricing, availability and service.
82
Does paying for visibility buy a verified badge or positive reviews?
No. Paid visibility, verification and customer reviews serve different purposes. Verification should depend on the required evidence, and reviews should reflect genuine experience.
83
What fees apply to partners?
The applicable agreement or commercial offer should state onboarding charges, subscriptions, transaction fees, taxes and any other charges. Your accepted terms govern; a general FAQ does not replace a signed founding-partner offer.
84
What are suppliers expected to do?
Provide accurate listings and quotations, maintain current business and authorisation details, disclose delivery and payment terms, obtain approval for substitutions, issue appropriate invoices and address valid fulfilment or warranty issues.
Reviews and Support
85
Who can leave a review?
Reviews should reflect a genuine experience relevant to the professional, supplier or transaction. Eligibility and any verification label depend on the review process available on Lighthouse.
86
Can a negative review be removed?
A review should not be removed simply because it is unfavourable or concerns a paying partner. Content may be reviewed where it involves fabrication, abuse, personal information, infringement or another policy violation.
87
How do I get help with an order?
Use the support route provided with your account or transaction. Include the order or RFQ reference, supplier name, affected items, relevant dates, photographs and the outcome you are requesting.
88
What if my complaint is not resolved?
Use the escalation details in Lighthouse’s Contact, Grievance & Dispute Resolution Policy. The support process does not remove any applicable right to approach a competent authority or pursue other available remedies.
89
Which terms apply if an FAQ answer differs from my agreement?
This FAQ explains the service in plain language. Applicable law, accepted order terms, relevant published policies and any valid signed agreement determine the parties’ rights and obligations.
